You got cut because you’re not white

by:

Remember all freshman, if you’re POC and you got cut from “top tier” houses, the only reason is because you’re not white. Don’t listen to the cap about personality, connections, coolness or sociableness. This is likely based solely on how white/european-looking you are.

people really don't want to hear it but it's true tbh. literally all the most diverse houses are lower houses. are there some non white members of upper houses? yes. but literally most of them are white and there's no denying it

most of the “top” houses at uw are full of white people who all come from the same seattle/bay area high schools. there are always exceptions but uw greeklife needs to do a lot of work. the “top” sororities especially

So sad to see UW wanting to see greeklife die so bad. The kids they accept for the most parts would rather go dorms... And most of the campus is anti greek life which is sad to see. Hope UW goes like it used to when Greek life was the main thing on campus and more for everyone.

People in the greek system saying it should be more diverse doesn't mean they hate Greek life or would prefer the dorms, it just means there are things that need improvement. If Greek life is gonna be "more for everyone" houses need to start being more friendly towards all backgrounds
