rushing
by: UWSo I'm interested in doing FFR next year, but I'm scared sororities are less likely to bid me since I'm going to be a sophomore. Do they ask when you rush? I'm also kind of confused how the rush process works. Do you list all sororities in the order you want them and then get paired with who likes you? Any advice on rushing would be great.

Go to Greek Preview in May! It is great for advice and any questions you have. Also a lot of houses consider sophomores!! It really is dependent on your personality which house you end up in, a house that is right for you will truly care about you and not your age! When you sign up for rush you fill out all this info about it and thats how they know you are a sophomore, and sometimes it just comes out in a convo! But really Greek Preview is the way to go :)

Do FFR if you 100% want to be in the greek system no matter what house picks you. The majority of the girls I have talked to felt they had no control over the house they got a bid from. I would recommend greek preview but stay as open minded as possible. Also the majority of the houses are the same here, you will most likely be able to find friends in any house whether top or bottom. Make sure when you are going through to pick the houses where you feel most comfortable regardless of their reputation, which is hard. I know plenty of girls in bottom houses that get into "top" frat parties and get hit on. Rankings dont matter as much as you think, this is college and not high school so I think people are generally more mature about that here.

It's open to anyone interested in Greek life. There are a lot of incoming freshmen, but it wouldn't be weird if current freshmen came. It will give you a good idea of what recruitment is like, it's almost like a practice round.
