Do employers check Greekrank?
by: YoI'm in a bottom tier house according to this website. I am terrified to put my fraternity on my resume because they might come on here and find out I joined a bottom tier house.

I can’t tell if you’re being serious, but in case you are, no it does not matter for employment. They barely matter as an upperclassman. Speaking from experience, It’s a lot of unnecessary superficial drama your first year or two and then “tier” makes no difference in your life. That’s why you should choose a house regardless of how they are ranked on here.
I would say the only real reason to AVOID putting your fraternity on your resume only if they have been involved in some kind of scandal that could be found in a Google search. I know the actions of a few don’t reflect an entire chapter, but unfortunately something like this can make you look bad.
For your employment/resume, get involved in your house and in the Greek community in general! That will look great and have a good impact on the community regardless of which house you are in. The other way Greek life can help with employment is through networking with alumnae, and again you can do this in any chapter and even across chapters if you put in the effort to reach out to people. I hope this helps.

I also want to add that I was worried to put my sorority on my resume because I work in STEM research and some people in this field have a very stereotypical view of Greek life. Put your fraternity on your resume, use the organizational and leadership skills you learn to your advantage and list them, they are applicable skills and this is how we can start to change peoples views of Greek life (and like, doing the work to be better in the community). And again, don’t worry about tier. Seriously, I promise no one cares :)
