can you be in a sorority and a feminist??

This thought occurred to me as I was at a women's rights seminar with my fellow fraternity bros - can you be in a sorority and a feminist?? I dont think so. You willingly participate in a system that oppresses you. You Spend hours getting ready and dressing up just to impress men who in turn treat you like garbage (except for me and my frat bros). You girls willingly embody the stereotypes that have kept women oppressed for centuries. Lol.

this is kinda sad to think about, but youre right to some extent. This system definitely continues very traditional roles, but i think at the same time it can be empowering as well.

I thought the same thing even though the system oppresses women, the actual women in the house are some of the strongest most independent women. Who get ready to go out for themselves and look good for themselves not for some stinky frat boy
