Is it true that the girls in top houses (like theta,pi phi, gphi, aphi) are miserable because of how catty the girls are to each other? is being in a top house really all that happy or is it super competitive and all about impressing/one upping each other?

Not true at all. You find your people during rush and it works, I am very happy as are my friends
