why all the hate on phi tau?

I've been rushing around and got a bid from Phi Tau. I like the house and have found the guys pretty cool. On here, people are saying they're "bottom tier" and when I checked out the rankings it seemed like people were rating them down without really giving a reason. Is there something that I'm missing? Why are they getting so much hate?

for starters I've never even heard of them... but if you like it and fit in there, who cares. That's what really matters.

from a girl's perspective if you ever want to talk to a female don't sign with phi tau...unless it's the only place you can get a big. consider zbt or another bottom frat before signing with phi tau. seriously. people think they're really weird

I have friends in a lot of houses, but I always know that I will have fun at Phi Tau. They may be sometimes awkward, but they are awesome friends and the truest brotherhood I have seen at UW.

nice guys but they're super weird and socially awkward, they never have parties on the same scale as other frats because they just can't get people to come...really sad

They're not a real house, you won't get the true Greek experience. They're never talked about. Don't do it!

Not kidding dude, nobody knows who Phi Tau is. Do yourself a favor, rush around more. Nobody actually knows who they are. Rush around.

Hey!

Okay there's a lot of negativity here. I have honestly spent a fair amount of time at phi tau so I know what I'm talking about. I was a GDI my freshman year and this was one of the only frats I was comfortable going to because they were nice to me and didn't make me feel weird for not being in the GS. They don't have parties very often so they don't have a strong rep or a group of girls that always go over like some frats do, this makes it harder for them to ever have successful parties but a strong social chair could turn this around.

The guys are smart, kind, awkward and dorky. They get along well with each other and don't have a lot of drama, but they aren't that socially connected to the rest of the greek community.

If you like the brothers don't be afraid of joining, at the end of the day you're not joining "a house" you're deciding on a group of people to live with and be friends with, so go with your gut.

I was a GDI before but I rushed my sophomore year and I'm in a sorority now. Why would a GDI be on greekrank?? lol I had no idea this website even existed before I rushed.
