transfer rush

by: Sophomore

Hey y'all, thinking of coming to UW next fall as a sophomore and wondering if going through sorority rush is worthwhile. I'm not worried about being in a top or middle house or whatever, just wondering if upperclassmen usually get cut all around or have a pretty decent shot getting a bid somewhere. If so, what do sororities look for and do letters of rec from alum matter a lot? Thanks!

I read somewhere that sophomore quota was only like 5, does anyone know if that's about right for the amount of sophomores rushing or if that makes it more competitive? Like do most that stick out the process get bids? And if you're a girl how is social life/ parties without a sorority?

barely any sophomores rush though, so 5 is a lot for a quota. I know some really awkward girls that got into top houses as sophomores because of the quota.

The quota is based on how many people rush, essentially the number of sophomores that are still in recruitment on the last day divided by the number of houses (it's more complicated than that but that's the gist- it's not set ahead of time).

As a sophomore you'll be fine, Juniors are usually where it gets sketchy even though it still works out sometimes.

Letters of rec barely matter at all, it only matters if you're a legacy
