dropping a sorority and rerushing
by: AnonymousI dropped out of my sorority and am planning on rerushing next year. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what sororities would think of that and how hard it would be to rush again. I know it is already hard rushing as a sophomore, but I’m hoping it will be easier with the quota. Would I have a better chance participating in ffq or cob??

There was a girl who had dropped tri-delt and was rerushing during this last recruitment, I don't know what happened to her during recruitment but she ended up withdrawing herself (and my house, an admittedly lower tier house dropped her) even though it wasn't advertised if one girl knows that you dropped it is enough to get red-flagged and the whole house will know. It is very hard to keep secrets in the greek community in general, and especially not during recruitment when the only thing people have to do is gossip.
It definitely doesn't make you look like a desirable PNM because it seems like you either aren't good at making friends, wont honor commitments, have unrealistic views of what the Greek Community would be like, or were too shallow and unhappy with the reputation of your house. So you should be prepared for people to know and to explain why you dropped.
Why did you decide to drop? If you weren't happy with the house you ended up in as a freshman what makes you think you'll be happier when you rush as a sophomore?

I know houses talk, so if some houses already know that I dropped and am rerushing, how badly would that hurt my chances of getting into a house?
