how to lose the freshman 15? :(
by: junior
I know this is greek rank yes... but i feel this is a topic relevant to a lot of sorority girl (and guys) now in their sophomore junior or senior year of college who are looking back on photos of themselves during their freshman fall quarter wondering how they were ever so oblivious to the pounds they were packing on... I've noticed it on myself, I'm in my junior year now and I've gained 15-20 lbs. I've noticed it on my friends, some have unfortunately gained closer to 25-30 lbs, and some have hit the full sorority 40.
I know where the freshman 15+ comes from, its no secret that its from a combo of chugging cheap soda to mask the taste of crappy alcohol every tuesday/thursday, as well as getting fast food late on nights out and eating hangover food all the next day.
Here I am, two years later wanting some tips from anyone that is kind enough to share them, on how they lost their freshman 15, or however much weight it was. I don't want to hear about how to prevent it, that won't help... but how did you lose it while being a student at UW who wants to remain social, but also slim down?
I've tried not drinking when going out, exercising regularly and eating nothing but healthy food for days, and I see no results. It's not that I'm still gaining weight, i've been the same weight for a year now, it just won't go down.

Well listen up cause you sound like a genuine poster. Heres the magical secret drum roll please............ It's called taking in a calorie deficit!!!! Ain't no secret beyond maybe lipo or gastric bypass. Track your calories, exercise harder (cardio is best for losing calories) and consume less booze.
I myself have struggled with weight in the past and noticed results when you work toward the goal. It obviously won't come off quickly but give it 1-2 months with photos every week it'll happen. Healthy ppl can only lose 1-2 pounds per week and this is by eating 500-1000 less calories everyday.
