should i pledge

by: Sunshine

I am transferring to the UW and have always really wanted to join a sorority, but I will be turning 22 in the fall. Is that too old to pledge? Also will I have a harder time rushing and getting an invitation if I am over weight? I could really use an honest opinion.

To honestly answer your question, yes, it will make it harder. Not necessarily impossible, but harder.

no haha hate to break it but it will be down right imossible. sororities at uw are very traditional and will not take someone that old let alone overweight. Try aopi though, they're as desperate for numbers as it gets

No, not too old, but you will only get invites to one or two houses, if that. The rest won't consider you. I wouldn't rule it out but bear in mind that Greek life sorta sucks if you are a girl, especially older. Being late to rush as a male is not as bad since the house rules are not as strict and frags often expect to lose members after one or two years. (You would be 26 as a senior, which is almost unheard of, although I did know one back). I'd tell you to get an apartment with friends and just visit frats you come to like..
