honestly our chapter dislikes LOR, it makes you seem like a try-hard. Not to mention that nobody cares anyway, we judge based off of if we like talking to you or not, we don't just trust random peoples opinions

really depends on the chapter/school. At most big schools in the SE and Texas you will not be pledged without a rec. On the west coast? Maybe not that important.

Do a lot of sororities not like LOR (rather than just not taking them into account)?

I'm not positive about many other houses, but I know that my house likes them! I think a good policy would be to accept them if someone offers, but don't seek them out.

Thank you! That's what I've been doing, so I don't know why houses would see LOR as "desperate" when a lot of people just accept any they're offered.

Don't worry to much about it! Most probably don't even look at them, our house throws them out unless it's a LOR from someone we knew personally

The way letters of rec are handled depends on the individual chapter. It never hurts to have them, but it also will absolutely not make or break your recruitment process!
