cost of sorority life
by: ?Is the cost of being in a sorority (including events, fees, food and housing and the clothes that you might have to buy for it) significantly more than it would cost to dorm?

The idea that it's cheaper is an often-repeated half truth that should be done away with. The cheapest sororities are cheaper than the most expensive dorms. You'll get housing and financial sheets during recruitment that will explain everything.
That said, the cost is generally not that much more than the dorms, I spend basically a thousand on month on food and housing which is really not bad. Your sorority dues do go to generally fun things like GADs and formals, so to me they're worth it. I have friends though that don't go to any events and constantly complain about the food at the house and so to them the money isn't worth it, but that's up to you and if you plan on making the most of you're time there.
