i know of girls in my house and others who did cob and joined spring quarter and loved it! you could always try it out, but I might wait until fall so you can see all the houses and not miss out on 2 quarters of bonding with your pc. plus if you COBed spring q you would move in in the fall at the same time as pc17 anyway. Ultimately it's up to you there are pros and cons to both
