how do i get a bid for cob?

by: Hayhay

It's been kind of a frustrating process and I feel like I don't even have a chance in getting in a house! If a house didn't contact you this quarter will they through winter or spring? Also will new houses join cob? Like if someone drops? I am a freshman and I just really need help. Any tips?

I know that my house hit quota during formal recruitment, but in the past the quota has been raised during winter or spring quarters. I think we're planning on COBing next quarter if we can, and I think a few other houses are too. Just keep trying to COB and if that doesn't work out you can always do FFR your sophomore year. I did formal recruitment as a sophomore and it worked out really well.

Also panhellenic made it a rule that houses have to hit a sophomore quota next year during FFR, so that'll make the whole process much easier! :)

COB during winter quarter and don't feel weird emailing the same houses you emailed fall quarter. It's all up to you to reach out to people, very rarely will houses reach out to you. I'm sure there will be a couple houses that are eligible for COB next quarter. Good luck!

Also most houses change who is in charge of recruitment in January with the new year so whoever you email again probably wont even know if you tried to contact them before so definitely try reaching out after officers change positions.

Thank you guys so much!! I'm just kind of confused why they don't email people back and I don't want to bother them if they have already rejected me...

Do they only care about how hot or rich you are? Because I do t feel like everyone in even the top houses are that hot tbh

They won't email me back either. I don't understand why they wouldn't at least want to meet me first and then decide no. Like shouldn't they want to see their pool of applicants because they have spots to fill?
