Relationships in sororities are Fake and cliquey. If ur a girl u can make friends around you and get into any parties you want. It’s definitely not worth joining one cuz u get nothing from it besides fake clout. Not to mention insane dues.

From someone actually in one, I would say yes it’s worth it. Our sisterhood is not fake, I have met my best friends in my sorority and I have no regrets. I only know about my experience, but people outside of our orgs have no idea what it is like or what goes on. Having a random friend in one does not = knowing how things are and what it’s like. Our dues are nothing compared to huge schools and are not “insane.” You aren’t buying your friends, funds are used for events and philanthropy and other things. Sign up for recruitment and check it out for yourself. Don’t let people decide for you!

If people drop it’s usually either financial, in which case people stay friends with you and support you as a person but understand you couldn’t keep paying, or you’re clearly having a bad experience because of friends and the environment. No duh people won’t talk to you if it’s the second - you’re basically dropping an entire friend group and saying you don’t want to be friends with them anymore. Your close friends will likely still talk to you, but don’t expect ex sisters to keep reaching out - you literally left your chapter. if there’s a reason (school, family, work, just life happening!), literally no one will hate you for just being honest and taking a step back. I hate this idea that sororities not wanting to talk to you after you drop is a bad thing when they’re legitimately just acting as people. There’s girls in my chapter living with dropped sisters it’s not the big of a deal jfc

Ok someone paid to take two posts down lmfao. Anyway to reexplain sororities are just brainwashing u into thinking you have clout. Geed independent girls are way more free from judgement, stress, and brainwashing. They do whatever they wanna do without joining a sorority, paying 100$ a month is nuts.

I'm in one of the "top 3" sororities, and yes, it's absolutely worth it. you won't be best friends with everyone, but there is a mutual respect. you'll find your close friend group, but it's not in a cliquey way. also the bond you create with your pledge sisters is so amazing i wish everyone could experience it. if you put the time in, you will def get your moneys worth.
