thoughts about greek life from an unaffiliated junior

Someone pointed me to this cesspool of a website because they wanted me to check out the rankings and the discussions that are on here for a laugh. I just had some genuine questions, coming from someone who neither has the time nor money for greek life. Does this really matter? Do rankings realllllyyy matter? Is it really THAT deep? Where y'all are using trigger fingers online to bash orgs we all see you party with/go out with all the time? From the outside, it seems like y'all raise a lot of money for charity, drink, and have at least a semi-good time together. What's the point of all of this anonymous negativity? I'm seriously wondering.

No hate or disrespect I just fr do not understand the purpose of this website or the seemingly competitive culture of greek life at all. This site seems like moderated trolling.
