Imo the best way to tell rankings for fraternities at least is to compare who generally competes for pledges with each other .
For example: akl/phi psi /kdr/lambda all snipe pledges from each other quite frequently so they are in the middle . They don't compete with pike/pikapp/theta chi who normally compete with each other and neither groups compete with the bottom for recruits like sig ep / sigma chi/ new chapters do
