does anyone know if a lot of sophomores go through formal recruitment?

Yeah make sure to go the sova fair to meet all the clubs plus fraternities. Spring Rush goes through formal recruitment as well but pledge classes tend to be much smaller and more competitive. Meet as many as you can to find the right one.

Tons and tons of sophomores go through recruitment here, even lots of juniors. VCU isn't a competitive recruitment process like southern schools.
