VCU barely has greej life and the university hates all greeks

The only reason Greek Life is so competitive here is because its so small! VCU should definitely look in to adding more chapters here

One of the worst schools ever for greek life. It barely exists here and where it does exist it's usually sub par unless your in one of the big 3 frats.

I joined greek life at vcu as a freshmen. I.t was very helpful in getting to know and meet new people. I'm a dude and the rush process compared to girls is a lot better and allows you to actually meet all the fraternities you are interested in. If you're looking to party at your time at VCU then greek life is definitely the way to go, there is not much of a party scene otherwise unless you are of age. Down and Up town both have a lot of respected college bars. It's a very easy way to make new friends and get involved in the city. Most of greek life is pretty invested in their philanthropy. In terms of joining, i.t is very easy unless you want to go top tier, even in that case all i.t takes is getting to know the right people. Top tiers from this website are pretty accurate (tchi, dchi, pike) Fiji has been looking good too in the past year. If you want a good brother hood and real parties you have to go top tier. Greek Life at VCU is hyper than site makes i.t out to be so definitely look into i.t. Tried to be as honest as possible here so I hope i.t is helpful

VCU greek life is not your traditional greek life, so don't come to campus thinking you're going to be seeing orgs with 200+ members, ridiculous recruitments, & that southern greek life style. It's a very urban campus therefore the greek life here is also very unique. There are some aspects that still apply to all orgs but for the most part greek life here is very diverse, more laid back, invested in their philanthropy (especially when it pertains to our city), & provides a more alternate option as opposed to your over the top & excessive southern style greek life.

VCU is probably the worst school in VA for Greek life. Considering the general population that attends VCU it doesn’t help this out lol. The top frats are the only relevant ones and they fuel whatever small party scene there is here. That being said for other frats it’s pretty hard to climb up the ranks unless you’ve been around forever. The club lacrosse team throws bigger/better parties than most Greek orgs here. It’s sad. If VCU wants to make Greek life a priority or relevant, serious steps need to be taken. There’s also no little to no bar/downtown scene and thats pathetic considering VCU is in the middle of a big city. Sad

there is the only one frat who actually has a house besides ratchet party houses so thats why I rated that category like that. besides that a lot of the top frats have fun parties but I hear a lot of rumors about hazing with d chi and akl among others. so I think its sort of bad here? the big fraternities like theta chi, pike and pi kapp are very active on campus with fundraising and things like sports. when it comes to sororities we are very diverse so if you trust the process you'll find your forever home!

Overall seems like great organizations

Super easy to get a bid. Very trashy girls in "top" houses. Embarrassing to the school.
