recruitment
by: seconddegree
Hi! I'll be coming to Nova in the fall as a second degree student and I was just wondering if A) I can rush as a student pursuing a second undergraduate degree and B) if it would even be worth my time to try. I understand that I'd be a little older than most new members and that might work very heavily against me but I'd love to be involved with a sorority if I can.
Just some clarifying details that I think I might be asked: I'll be 22 next fall and doing the 5 semester BSN program at Villanova. I'd appreciate honest opinions! Thanks y'all!

One, I think it def would work against you for almost every chapter. But moreover, what would the point be? At Nova, we don't Rush until the spring so by that point you would have 4 semesters left which isn't terrible, but you would also be older than almost everyone recruiting you. Also, typically a new member forms the strongest connections with her pledge class and her family. I don't really know what sophomore looking for a little would want to take on a 22-23 year old "little". And in regards to your pledge class, what would you have in common with a bunch of 18-19 year olds??? You'll be 4 years older than everyone in your PC and at 18, that's almost like a lifetime. I'm not saying not to rush, but your age will 100% what houses even invite you back after day 1 and if you even end up accepting a bid, you won't have that much in common with your pledge sisters. It's something you would def want to talk to panhel and the greek life office about.

They literally take anyone left during recruitment. Doesn't matter who they are. And they always take everyone who goes out for them in the fall.
