recruitment dos and don'ts
by: pnmCan anyone give any advice at what to do/say and what not to during recruitment? How should you dress since it is going to be cold? Basically any advice you can think of would be much appreciated

Avoid talking about booze, boys, money - this is supposed to be about sisterhood, no sorority want's the feeling that they're being used for frat rides. Ask questions, and answer questions with more than a 2 word answer - I can't tell you how frustrating it is to talk to a brick wall, we know you're nervous but its just painful if its one sided. Have some questions in your mind for any conversation, and be able to talk about yourself too. Be respectful to everyone you talk to, at every sorority - the sorority girls have all the power in the situation and not you since you're trying to join them, better to be in any sorority than none at the end of the day, and they all have great people that you could be friends with anyway. Be caffeinated or well rested because you will be tired but you won't want to show that you're tired. Dress nicely obviously, but you don't exactly need to be in business casual or club wear either. Just put in the effort, but be yourself, it's very obvious when you're pretending. Try to have fun with it, laugh, we all know its awkward, be yourself, try to imagine yourself in each sorority, and in the end it will work out even if it's not what you expected!

Just had to comment and say that the point of “at the end of the day, it is better to be in a sorority than to not be in kne” - COMPLETELY not true. Especially at Villanova. If you don’t feel comfortable during the rushing process it’s okay to drop.
