sorority expansion; thoughts?
by: Expansion?
Do y'all guys think sorority expansion could be opened again? I mean we just went back to once again having 6 sororities on campus. Should it happen again or no?
Also if it should what sorority should come in?
I personally think ΧΩ, ΑΧΩ, ΚΔ, or ΔΓ would do well for this campus. Even if we got a small sorority like ΑΞΔ would be kinda cool.

UTSA needs bigger Greek names if they want to see Greek life improve. Therefore smaller, not as nationally-recognized sororities would not be as helpful as bringing Pi Phi, Kappa, XO, tri delt, etc.. and if you remember from ADPI, it's a long process that requires mutual interest from the incoming sorority as well as approval from UTSA PHC (which is an incompetent and very unknowledgeable council that doesn't know betterment from their left hands)!!!!

Bringing in popular NPC names may start the ridiculous UTSA recruitment game of "I don't want any sorority but BIG NAME, so I'm dropping from rush because BIG NAME dropped me" among pnms, thereby lowering quotas and making chapters even smaller.
Then might begin the revolving door of UTSA's well-established, multiple alumnae backed "smaller name" chapters having to leave because pnms unwisely decide they only want to join BIG NAME GROUPS.
The NPC and campuses nationwide try very hard not to work that way. Each of the 26 NPC groups offers worthy endeavors and possibilities for young students and their alumnae.
A strong possibility exists the BIG NAME GROUPS aren't even looking toward forming colonies on our campus. Each NPC has stringent standards for colonizing on campuses, and we may not offer the "right" type of student, faculty, extracurriculars, degrees and programs for the BIG NAMES to deign to come here. As a recent example, Chi Omega accepted the chance to colonize at Northern Kentucky, interviewed women for their colony, then politely declined to bid any women and closed their brief NKU colonization process. The same could happen here.
