I don't think the term "basic" could describe any sorority better than ASA....

ASA is not a "bad" sorority by any means! The thing is, girls don't go into recruitment desiring ASA as their #1. Maybe by day 2 or 3 but for sure not on day 1! This is because they go against traditional ASA symbols, like the phoenix or the lady bug, and sway toward mimicking other organizations which gives them a distasteful look. Maybe if they respected themselves more and stuck to their sorority's unique practices they would grow on campus and wouldnt be seen as average and a third choice.

lol the same person posted like 4 comments straight below. If ASA wasn't competition for Zta or Phi Mu it wouldn't be worth mentioning to rush them instead of ASA. ASA is competition, so people feel the need to constantly defend their own sorority in this page.

NEW ON GREEKRANK

Here at UTSA, the AΣA chapter is essentially made up of ZTA wannabe's, which is a shame because they used to be a pretty decent chapter before they started throwing up the four-pointed crown (and sometime also use the five-pointed crown- ZTA's official symbol.) With that being said, there are some really nice girls in this chapter, but unfortunately the sorority has gone downhill due to poor leadership and lack of self-betterment.

In my opinion fake try hards! Cute girls but aren't the best looking on campus by any means.

ASAs seem like they have a really good sisterhood and are relatively classy, but from someone who went through recruitment I have a few critiques... They are try hards 100% who seem to never come up with any of their own ideas! I quickly realized in recruitment that if you don't get a bid from Phi Mu or Zeta you end up going ASA!

ASA are not top tier but they try to act like it. They are very diverse and classy. They try too hard. They are really involved but get catty with other sororities. Keep it up!

They are very competitive and love to do philanthropy events. Their sisterhood seams pretty real from the outside. I love that they are diverse with hot girls. They love to go above and beyond and seam to be at the top a lot.

Half of them are really cool and half of them are try hards. They aren't bad. but they shouldn't act like they're the best when they aren't there yet.
