I really wish they would change their philanthropy affiliation. autism speaks seems to have a meanness to people on the spectrum. we aren't broken and we don't need to be fixed.

Autism Speaks is an amazing organization. From a philanthropy chair with alpha xi at another chapter, they aren't about finding a cure but about acceptance. We never bash other philanthropies so please do a favor and don't bash on what we value and take to heart the most :)

Just this year both Alpha Xi Delta and Autism Speaks changed their slogan to be more inclusive and accepting. Previously, Autism Speaks may have implied that autism was something to be "fixed" but they have been devoted to providing resources for those affected by autism and in need of services. They have changed as an organization to become more about awareness and acceptance. Since partnering with Autism Speaks, Alpha Xi Delta has raised over $6 million that go towards these families in need. I understand why you have these reservations but the positive impact they have had on the community shows just how much Alpha Xi Delta and Autism Speaks in needed. No organization is perfect but they have strived to help families and individuals on the spectrum to give them the resources that they need.

I mean Autism Speaks, according to their website wants to cure autism, and they actively try to speak over autistic people, but go off

This chapter is nothing but the best. They are super active, especially with their philanthropy. The women of Alpha Xi are are so beautiful, intelligent, and so charismatic. I haven't heard or seen anything bad from these girls so keep it up!
