by: Phi Mu Transfer

I'm thinking about transferring here in the fall, the school that I'm currently enrolled in has a phi mu chapter and I'm active. I've heard things about the phi mu chapter and its making me hesitate to transfer here. I'm very active in my current chapter, but on our campus phi mus are known as the nice girls, and we're all friends. I'm curious to know if I transfer in if Ill be able to make any friends within the sorority. This is awful to say, but I am a pretty girl, and I do know how to hold myself, but if the girls won't accept me and I'll just be a floater I don't want to transfer here. Phi Mu is everything to me at my school now and all of my friends that I've made in college are in it. PLEASE HELP ME.

I question you if you are basing your college decisions on a sorority. Come to UT if you like UT, not whether or not you like our chapter of PhiMu. There is SO much more to college than the Greek letters you wear!

its not that I'm choosing based on my sorority alone its just whether or not anyone will admit it makes a big difference, I don't want to feel ostracized. I wouldn't even be considering transferring if I didn't already love everything else there. Going through freshman year at another school and making so many friends only to uproot and move to another school would be difficult, and I would like to have some friends in my sorority there.

You will make good friends whether or not you "click" with all the girls in PhiMu. It's pretty easy to meet people and make friends here. I am in a sorority, and I have just as many friends in other houses as I have in my own. Good luck!
