panhellenic rules
by: Unanswered QuestionsI have been told that chapters who SAID they were able to give out spring bids, were all of a sudden not allowed to because Panhellenic lowered quota. How is that okay? Why would Pan think it's okay to lower quota DURING spring recruitment? Furthermore, why is nobody holding them accountable for their decision? That's totally unreasonable and unfair to any girl who went to the expo and got their hopes up. In fact, in their "rules" online it clearly states that totals and quotas can only be altered 72 hours AFTER recruitment. Spring everything was handled unbelievably poorly by Panhellenic, and I am just wondering why.

DZ? They are not the only chapter who was screwed by pans last minute announcement. so its definitely Pans fault

Utk Panhellenic is not to blame. The Nationals of some sororities implemented those changes. Irregardless of how it happened, how it was handled is unfortunate.

They took a few girls but it ended up being an invite only event and they chose a select few from there. Don't get butt hurt, spring Rush is always extremely competitive because they only give out a few spots choosing out of 150 girls that show up. Most of the time if you don't already know a girl in the chapter you probably won't get a bid so just rush in the fall.

Ok I'm sorry to all these PNMS that went into the Greek expo thinking they were going to get a bid from a certain chapter, particularly a "top tier" chapter because people went on here running their mouths. Most of the chapters y'all are upset about were never giving out bids AND the ones that were going to take new members but ended up not being able to BECAUSE THEIR NATIONALS wouldn't let them were only going to take a few, probably less than 5 new members. Given they weren't going to take that many girls your chances to actually get a bid were so slim, and pretty much zero if you didn't already have friends in the chapter.
Honestly, I get why you're upset and I totally agree that spring rush is a hot mess and could be handled SO much better, but the harsh truth is you really don't know what you're talking about and you sound dumb and petty "resorting" to an anon website talking about how horrible pan is. You'll never find useful or accurate information off this site.
If Panhellenic is so horrible, than why do you even want to join a sorority?

I understand that it's "old news" (of last week???) but it still hasn't been publicly addressed. Questions are still not answered. That's why people have to resort to this site.
