spring recruitment

Why did the chapter totals change so suddenly so that sororities who were planning recruitment parties cannot give bids out anymore? It just seems tacky to lead pnm's on and then just cancel everything because it was decided that they can't take people anymore.

All sororities had to participate in Greek Expo they do not have to COB. Just because they were at Greek Expo does not mean that they were going to have Open Houses and recruitment events.

It is definitely tacky and rude. I have no idea what Panhellenic was thinking lowering quota during spring recruitment.

There is no quota for spring rush. Greek expo is more of an info session than recruitment. Each chapter can cob if they want to and they can cob as many or as little or none at all. Chapter total is an average, so some chapters are well over total and don't need girls. Also total and quota are 2 very different things so

Sounds like some girls may have been misinformed or made assumptions about the purpose of Greek Expo. It does seem like it might have been a bit misleading. I understand this is a relatively new event at UTK so next year clarifying things might be helpful.

today- the day after Greek Expo an email was apparently sent out saying pan changed the quotas and kkg and zta are no longer able to do spring recruitment?.......

National Panhellenic contacted UT Pan saying that there's new legislature for chapter total. It went to a vote. Panhellenic is really upset about this and it was out of their control. It was just really bad timing
