is Phi Mu really like here? I'm thinking of transferring. Is it party girls, studious girls, or a mix? What is the reputation?

They have a lot of party girls but they also have a high GPA. They have a rep of being snobby and think they're above everyone (they literally yell "the rest are far below us" at every event they go to)

Thank you! So I wouldn't really consider myself snobby or a party girl. Yes I like to go out but not all the time. I would consider myself pretty down to earth for the most part. Would I have a really hard time here? Also is UTK in general a party school? I know nothing about it.

Every sorority has party girls and ever sorority has very refined girls who don't go out and you'll usually find them hanging out with BYX a lot. That isn't a bad thing and you will find your group of friends either way. Phi Mu is a very great/ popular chapter here. One thing I think you will notice though is there is not a ton of diversity or variety of girls in this chapter (mostly blonde, pageant looking girls with about the same personality) so is that concerns you I would not pursue it, because I know that was the deciding factor for a few girls in my chapter. hope this helps!

Yes, they have a lot of party girls and Tennessee is a big sec school so there is quite a few partiers here but there's a good amount of people will casually go out every so often or not at all. I don't think you'd have a hard time fitting in here if you're not a partier.

Phi mu has girls who go out and stay in. they are pretty selective on who they offer bids too and what fraternities they will hangout with though. They typically go after the size 2 blond Barbies and kind of disregard what their personalities are. The older girls don't really hangout with the younger girls and last year they had to have pledge class meetings because they couldn't be nice to each other. My roommate was a phi mu last year but dropped because of these problems, but i also know girls who love it in there. I'd say meet them for yourself and then decide!

Phi Mu is a great chapter at UT. Tend to not get involved in the social media bashing, and have a diverse sisterhood. With pledge classes of 50-60 girls, they do tend to have different factions, but they are a top, well respected sorority at UT. They Have quite a few transfers, as does. cHi O, ADPi, KD and ADPi. All are strong sororities in the Southeast.

You listed ADPI twice I wonder which house you're in??

They may be strong chapters in the southeast, but all of the chapters mentioned (ADPI, Chi O, and KD) are not strong here. ADPI and Chi O are barely middle still and KD has fallen from top 2 to maybe #6 in the last three years.

so the pledge classes are small here? why is that if UTK is a big-ish school? I just want to know as much as I can before I try to jump right in since I am OTS. Would that make a difference?

She is right. PhiMu is good here ADPI and CHIO are mediocre and KD is just a little above them.

She only asked about a Phi Mu. Why drag Chi O, ADPi and KD in it?

Because one of them involved themselves a few comments up?

from curious above, " Have quite a few transfers, as does. cHi O, ADPi, KD and ADPi. All are strong sororities in the Southeast."

This was a lie which needed to be clarified. PhiMu is strong here, the others are not.
