stereotypes
by: JwCould someone please list the stereotypes for each sorority? Not really looking for ranks of teirs just kinda curious about what type of girls join each one.

Okay, I'm going to answer your question honestly, but keep in mind that obviously every sorority has a variety of girls and not everyone will fit each stereotype. This is just the general idea I've gotten from being Greek at UT.
IN ALPHABETICAL ORDER
AXO - a mixed bag. you could take any handful of them and you'd find girly, hippy, churchy, etc. in every group. Lots of variety, but I notice a large majority of them are the girly dancer type. Known for taking OOS girls. Great sisterhood
ADPI - churchy girls who care a lot about their grades over other aspects of Greek life. Don't really go out much for the most part. Take mostly in state girls from their target schools. Known by other sororities as the "mean girls" of Pan.
AOPI - the hipster sorority. Don't really see them around campus events much because they kind of keep to themselves (not in a bad way). Very tight knit sisterhood
XO - extremely similar to ADPI, which is why they're often grouped together. Most are in state girls from target schools
DDD - the rich girls. Known for having a lot of money, partying, and always having fun. Not as involved in philanthropy events outside of their own, but they are very passionate about their own. Target Memphis schools
DG - the girls who don't care about their reputation (in the sense of ranks, etc., not saying they have a bad reputation at all). They go out often, and are pretty sweet for the most part. Don't really have a target area
DZ - similar to AXO. Lots of girly, dancer girls, but have a ton of hippy festival goers too. Pretty girls and are known for taking OOS girls. Great sisterhood
KD - the pretty girls. Known for recruiting in state from their target areas, but have a larger focus on looks than many other sororities. Involved in philanthropy events and go out often. Frats like them but other sororities often don't because they have a tendency to be on the mean side, like ADPI
KKG - difficult to describe. I have nothing against them personally, but they're a mixed bag in a different way than AXO and DZ. They have some really cool girls, but some kind of different girls too. Used to be known as the party sorority but I feel like that stereotype isn't necessarily fitting anymore.
Phi Mu - the pretty blonde girls, similar to KD in that they focus on looks a lot in recruiting. Mostly Nashville girls. Girly dancer types similar to DZ and AXO. Very involved. There's a reason they're top.
Pi Phi - the sweet girls. Pi phi has some AWESOME girls and they often get a bad rap for no reason. They're kind and a great example of what sisterhood means. I think most people don't give them a chance based on what they hear, but I kept them over many "top" sororities until the third round of recruitment because I genuinely loved them.
SK - another mixed bag similar to KKG. Some of their girls are awesome and sweet and beautiful, other ones not so much. They've done better in recent years in recruitment and ACE events which has contributed to their becoming a better chapter. No target area.
ZTA - I know tiers aren't supposed to be a part of this, but they're honestly the pretty girls of the lower half. Frats love them for that reason. They gained a reputation two or three years ago for being a little party crazy, but I don't think that describes them anymore at all. I preffed them and honestly can say I feel like I would have been just as happy in ZTA as my own chapter.
