cuts

by:

If I have a best friend in a certain sorority and her sisters like you too plus you have 3 or 4 Rec letters for their house and you are not a legacy to any other houses. What reasons would there be for them cutting you?

Not trying to be mean but maybe her sisters didn't like you as much as you thought they did. They may like you but liked others better. Maybe you should not have had your heart set on one house and give others a chance. You can still have your best friend and be friends with her sisters and belong to a different house. Many girls have friends in other houses and its fine.

Maybe their house is superficial and you didn't have the look they wanted

Sometimes it's not about you, but the other 200 girls that the chapter is friendly with, legacies for, or a variety of other reasons that they outrank you. Step into their shoes for a second...cuts are hard.

Remember there are 1000 girls going through recruitment. It's not all about you. Tough competition. Sorry your feelings were hurt.

My best friend was going through rush and I told my VP all about her, loved her and really wanted her to be in my chapter. I thought she was for sure in since me (an active member) highly recommended her since we were best friends, she had a great GPA, "attractive" and super friendly. We ended up cutting her and I was devastated. I later realized it was because there were so many other girls going through rush that were amazing and cuts just had to be made somewhere. It's unfortunate
