recs still worth it?

If I do not meet the minimum GPA requirement for a certain house should I even bother getting a rec? Are first cuts made by recs and gpa?

My house cuts immediately off of GPA alone unless it's a legacy

Still try to get a rec. It's not that hard and it can help you.
