spring rush

I'm a sophomore and didn't get to rush for fall and was thinking about giving it a try in the spring, is it similar to fall recruitment? How exactly does it work>

Spring recruitment takes place near the end of January. What happens is that you can apply through the pan website similarly to how you apply for fall recruitment. It was free last year, which is good!

Is INCREDIBLY different. First off, not all chapters participate. Last year, it was only Pi Phi and Kappa Kappa Gamma. Only chapters that haven't made quota (often because girls drop or graduate) will go through spring recruitment: there's a bit of negative connotation about going through it, so other chapters might give out COB bids around this time instead of officially signing up for it. Keep in mind you'll probably only meet one or two chapters and they may not have that many open spots. I was one of around 30 girls who participated last spring, and half of us didn't get bids. (Sad day!)

Secondly, this recruitment lasts a day. Last year, you'd visit the sororities for around 20-30 minutes each, then you could choose to go back and talk to them again if you wanted. So the first round is visiting all of the chapters participating, and the second round you choose which ones to go back to. Chapters don't drop you during spring recruitment rounds.

After the second round, you sign your preference card. The next day, you'll receive a phone all informing you of whether or not you got a bid and from which chapter.

Thirdly, it's very informal. You're not expected to dress up too formally, as it's treated like the informal Go Greek round, plus it'll be in the dead of winter.

Thanks for taking the time to explain this.

You should reach out to the chapters via email and let them know you would be interested in continuous open bidding...it could also be an option for you!
