top tiers
by: ArguingAs a PNM seeing all this top five stuff can be really confusing. Having gone through PAN preview, I talked to great girls in EVERY house! In my opinion, a top houses should be one who raises a lot of $ for their philanthropy, does a lot in the community, and is academically sound. From what I heard, "top" houses are often equated to pledge classes composed of "popular" girls from high school. This is college, and many "popular" girls in HS are popular for the wrong reasons. I plan on looking at each profile and see who is the highest in philanthropy, community service, and academics. Those should be your "top" houses.

This is GR and lying abounds because it's anonymous To claim that in looking at above rankings you conclude there are only 3 houses that stand out is preposterous. How far down the list do you need to go to claim recognition? 6th? Why not 7th or 8th? Why not stop at 3,4 or 5? Because the houses you claim are clearly top 3 wouldn't even rank in top 3 or 4 or even 5. Looks like a House is on here claiming false status. No surprise

...so obvious a KD wrote this. TriDelt is WAY better than you will ever be. There is nothing wrong with AOPI or DZ either, and yeah, they are in the top 6.

of you people are ridiculous. So, the PNM wants an involved house. Get over yourselves. My house doesn't rank on her top 6, but I would NEVER get on here and badmouth PhiMu, AOPI, DZ, ADPI, TriDelt, or SK for their accomplishments. Honestly, the bashing on here probably comes for the same few freshman who think tiers are important. We all join our houses for different reasons. There are amazing women in ALL the houses and there are also rude women in ALL the houses who feel the need to come on this site and belittle any house who they might feel threatened by. Some people need to grow up and act like ladies.

The funniest part is to have the listings posted yet poster didn't realize rankings didn't support her declared top 3 or 4 or even 5. And got really called out for that one. Not jealous only stating facts. It's just that the poster keeps saying over and over that dz qualifies to be top 6, sometimes even saying they should be top 3 just because they were listed once (tied for sixth place) in grades. So I'm saying if that's their reasoning then why isn't axo, chio, kd or kappa considered top six instead? They had a one time listing, like dz, but ranked higher than 6th. It just comes off as self promoting at others expense. Plus the only bashing on here was against SK so STOP! Everything else has been a discussion about the real truth about the rankings.

facts are incorrect. The poster said top five or 6 in All, I repeat, ALL categories. I double checked her findings and DZ was in the top six in all three categories. The others you mentioned did not rank in the top six in ALL three categories. I don't know why that is so hard to understand. AOPI, and TriDelt also ranked in the top 6 in ALL, I repeat ALL, three categories. The poster also mentioned PhiMu as top, as well as SK, and ADPI. AXO, Kappa, CHIO did not rank tht high in ALL, I repeat ALL, three categories. As for KD, they are near the bottom.

After someone posted the numbers she said she based her top houses on those that placed in the top 5 or 6 in ALL categories, not just one. Sorry if your houses didn't land in the top based on numbers, but no need to bash those that did. Her findings are correct. Sorry you can't read correctly.

Adpi, phi mu, SK and ddd were the only houses that placed in the top 3 TWICE in the above rankings. So they are your top four houses in grades and philanthropy. Houses that rank or place in the top 3 in anything get recognition. Like in 1st, 2nd or 3rd (not 4th. 5th or 6th) So congrats to them for an outstanding job. Since the original poster wanted to know who was outstanding in grades and philanthropy...well now you know. It's adpi, phi mu, SK and ddd.

TriDelt is actually 5th in community service and grades, but overall higher than the other two that placed in the top 6 in ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL L categories.

So you didn't place in the poster's top 5 for what she was looking for. Not everybody is going to see you as top. It's a humbling experience to see what you see as "inferior" houses get credit where credit is due. Do yourself a huge favor and quit trying to put your spin on her question. She wanted top six in all categories and she got her answer.

Umm gave herself away as a PhiMu when she, "Top three twice!" Honestly on her list PhiMu was the only one who did this...lol, so we obviously know the poster was a PhiMu. Unfortunately, she just couldn't swallow the fact her house didn't make the cut into the top 6 in ALLLLLLLLLL three categories. Poor girl, to think other houses did better than you. Can you see why TriDelt is #1 now? Oh, and good job to AOPI and DZ as well.

yes it is true that Tri Delt is a great sorority and raises A TON of money for their philanthropy... they are not that involved when it comes to other fraternity and sorority philanthropies. They look amazing to PNMs when it comes to how much they raise and do for St. Jude which don't get me wrong is awesome!! But coming from someone on the inside of greek life, they hardly participate or try in other philanthropy events. And they usually have low involvement in greek/campus wide events and competitions and never place high. Not to rag on them at all because they have so many other things going for them. All I'm trying to say is you cannot completely base an opinion on a sorority's standings simply from a list of statistics because so much more goes into it than that.

There are a lot of houses that participate in events!! Tri Delt and ADPi are great houses but are known for having low involvement in greek/campus wide events; however, they back that up by being VERY involved in their own philanthropies by raising a lot of money and working directly with their philanthropies on a regular bases which a lot of other houses don't do. Still, most of the sororities are great about participating in other philanthropies! Some sororities that are known for placing a lot in events and competitions are KD, Phi Mu, XO, AOPi, DZ, and AXO!

is not known for winning anything... or even participating for that matter. They often opt out of participating in other Greek events, and sometimes are the only sorority not participating (usually with Tri Delt and ADPi if they aren't the only ones)
