What are Quota numbers
by: BeeniceHi I was dropped today and I did a sip bid and was told that each house has a specific quota number? Did every house hit their quota? I’m trying to understand what I didn’t right, 4.0 gpa, swimmer and Girl Scout. Only houses I got back were adpi , chi o, dz, dg, sk, kkg , aopi and pi phi . Sisterhood I was dg , pi phi , sk and kkg. I had dg and pi phi and sips dg and got dropped. I wanted tri delt or phi mu but never got them. Why can’t we visit each house at least one time?

unfortunately, being released from recruitment was a huge possibility bc you sip instead of maximizing your options during preference! I’m so sorry that this happened to you! Even if it doesn’t seem like it, everything will be okay I promise! COB is a great way to meet girls in a more relaxed setting and I’m sure you can find your home if you still want to! try to keep an open mind! good luck, you got this! :)

Unfortunately sip is the only thing that got you released. Everyone who makes it to pref and maximizes their options is guaranteed a bid to a chapter. COB is an option if you’re up for it and AGD will have their own bid day if interested in them. If you want to COB you will need to decide very soon because all the chapters participating, except AGD, have to complete COB in the next couple weeks or so.

You did nothing wrong. It is a numbers game.
While every house does have the same quota after pref, for all the earlier rounds each house has a different cap for how many they can invite back. Strong recruiting chapters that more pnm's want can fill their invitation list right off the bat, other chapters have to ask more back to get more back. As soon as a chapter fills their invitation list, the rest of their pnm's are released.
Also, every single chapter has to decide their first invitation lists without meeting any pnm's in person, so GPA and chapter connections are very important, then resume and video, and plenty of pnm's never step foot in certain houses because of this. You are not the only 4.0 with a good resume who was released immediately from certain houses.
After first round it's all about your conversations and hitting it off with chapter members. DG and PiPhi both loved you, but DG matched to quota before they got to you because you weren't quite high enough on their list, and you would have gone PiPhi but you didn't want them at all.
I'm so sorry, I know it hurts. Make friends in the chapters and try for a COB at the houses you had in later rounds.

Thank you for explaining this. I did rank only one house as well out of two and was released, however, I ended up getting a call an hour later saying I had an bid offer from another house I really liked so I ran home to them. I was feeling like I did something wrong but it worked out better!
