fraternities to rush

by: Out Of State

Whats up guys. I'll be attending UT in the fall as an out of state freshman and was wondering which fraternities are worth rushing? I know nothing and am not trying to start a "best fraternity" thread. I was just hoping to get a list of 5 or 6 fraternities from people on campus on which fraternities I should rush.

I've heard good things about Phi Sig and ATO, but I honestly don't have a clue. Thanks and girls and guys opinions are welcome.

Phi Sig, ATO, Sig Ep, Sigma Chi, SAE and Kappa Sig in no particular order. This group are the more popular fraternities at UT. Just go out and be yourself. If you aren't a total douche and fit a profile you should get at least one bid to a decent fraternity.

Sig ep and Kappa Sig do not deserve to be on there. But honestly, you'd get a bid at either for having a pulse.

Go phi sig. If you can't, go ATO

this depends if you are a jerk or not. If not, don't pledge Phi Sig or ATO.

Are you telling me that there are only 2 good fraternities at UT? At UA there are about 25 good ones to choose from. Surely the greek system at UT is not that pathetic.

there are more, but people at UA don't have to study as hard. Trust me, I know because I transferred from UA. As an engineering major, I study three times as much at UT as I had to at UA. I loved my time there, but the academics for engineering just aren't good. I did have a LOT of fun there though because I had to study very little to get good grades.

All of on row fraternities (except Phi Psi) and Kappa Sigma (off row by Hess) are worth rushing at least one of the nights. Trying to act like someone you aren't and only rushing the "best" fraternity you heard about will lead to a disappointing bid day, or even blackball later in the semester if you aren't fitting in well.

is very accurate. You just have to find the fraternity you fit in best at.

are hurt at UT as compared to Alabama or Auburn because UT is a dry campus. Also, the administration isn't as supportive of the greek system at UT.
