Will an OOS Student Be ok in Sorority Rush?
by: morgan wallenI'm from Arkansas and I'm an incoming freshman and I'm not a legacy. I don't know anyone who went to UTK, so connections will be hard. However, I have great grades and I am really outgoing. Will I do okay without connections? If not, any suggestions on how to find connections?

Hey girl! I rushed this year with very few connections and am not a legacy either, and I had an amazing experience. I found my forever home and best friends and you will too. Having a good GPA and extracurricular activities is important, but what matters the most is having confidence and being yourself. If you go through the process authentically it will work out perfectly for you. Good luck!

Several girls rushed with high GPAs and extra-curricular activities that got cut from 90% of the houses by day 4.
The truth is they research girls all summer and they have their PNM list pretty much picked before rush even starts. Local girls have far more connections which spills over from Nashville. Make sure your Instagram is filled with things that look filtered AF because that's what they look at more than anything else. Do your application the day it opens. Letters of recommendation and legacy? Doesn't matter. 3x legacies we're cut.
It was a very dirty game last year. I'm dropping my house and transferring out.
