Official Fraternity Rankings going into Spring 22

by: UTK Official Greek Ranks

After tough and thorough examination, here is how I rank the fraternities. Each ranking is provided with detail; please be respectful that this is my (educated) opinion. Rest in Piece to those that have fallen -- Delt, ATO, and KA.
(^ denotes rank having risen from precious semester, v denotes rank has dropped, - denotes rank has not changed)

TOP:
Sigma Nu (^) Sigma Chi (^)
After a fall that saw the return of (somewhat) normalcy to campus, there was alot of potential for greek life to take a step forward. The semester began with First Night Out, which included a massive party thrown By Sigma Nu and Sigma Chi, at the Sigma Nu "beach house". To anyone involved, you probably would agree it was the biggest party of the year. It started what would prove to be a big year for both fraternities -- both proved their excellence in sports (with Sigma Chi winning 3 intramural championships) excellence in philanthropy (both raising well over their designated goals) and excellence in social life. Sigma Chi hosted a Halloween party with Delt and Kappa Sig that mustered near 800 attendees, and Sigma Nu consistently remained one of the top houses to visit for tailgates.

Upper:
Pike (-), Sig Ep (^)
Let's start with Pike. We all know they won Homecoming. Throughout the first semester they dominated in many different categories, including making it to several intramural championships led by quarterback Preston Garner (who has now retired and refs intramurals), proving their excellence in homecoming with a beyond impressive lawn display, and by throwing one of the coolest parties of the year; Old Row's own DJ, Deerock, at their house. The event mustered a huge crowd and went well into the night -- ending with Deerock passed out hungover in the Pike house. Now, let's talk about Sig Ep. They did a great job in homecoming with KD. They seemed to take on an underdog montra which powered them towards an impressive performance in the Smokey's Howl. On the social side of things, these guys are consistently becoming one of the top. If you find yourself at a Sig Ep party, you will always have a great time, and notice a large crowd. What keeps them from a top spot is that you will almost always see Sig Ep guys at other fraternity's parties. Is this their fault? Not really. Greek life is kind of thrown off this year due to the year off, so everyone just wants to party - regardless of where. So I give them the benefit of a doubt, but until they decide to (and it should be easy for them) stop going to other places and just throw their own stuff, they're sitting nicely at an upper spot.
Middle:
Kappa Sigma (v), SAE (-)
I'm gonna get hate for this I'm sure, but because these are my personal rankings, I have to be honest. I cannot tell you the last time I've heard of an SAE or Kappa Sig party. They are lackluster in their sorority GroupMe's and you don't really hear about them throwing any large events. Both have nice houses, and a large group of actually really cool brothers, so I really don't understand what's going on. I think they're both easily capable of an upper spot, but what will determine that is if they actually start putting effort into making their parties into something more. To add, Kappa Sig lost Mike's, which will prove to be a tough loss.

Still Looking to make the Jump:
Fiji (-), LXA (still too new), Phi Tau (^), BYX (look out for some actually fun parties, albeit w/o alcohol)
Looking forward to an incredible semester.
Go vols!
