A Letter to PNMs
by: READ THIS
My best advice to you is to get off this website. Sure, it can be funny and the rumors can be interesting, but it is not what the Panhellenic community is about. You should be joining a chapter because their values align with yours and you feel at home, not because an anonymous user on a random website said a chapter was "top tier". When I say that there is not a bad chapter at UT, I genuinely mean it. There are beautiful, kind, intelligent, strong women in every single house. Go to the place where you feel like you can make genuine friendships that will last beyond your 4 years in college, not to a place where you will have to fight to fit in or to a place whose letters will look the best in your Instagram bio. Your sorority letters do not define you, the people who you surround yourself with do. Take a lot of time this week to reflect on yourself, your own values, and what you look for in your friends. Trust the process. You will hear it 1000 times over, but it is true. Everything happens for a reason, so if you get cut by your favorite house or the house you're a legacy to, don't sweat it and give the other chapters a chance. Don't listen to others' opinions and the stereotypes and do what's best for you.
You are already so valued in the Panhellenic community here at UT, and I sincerely wish you the best recruitment week ever. Get plenty of sleep, drink tons of water, and eat lots of snacks!
