by: HelpDo sororities rush in the fall? And what are the changes for a junior with a lot of recs????

Fall is the main recruitment time here. It's fall formal, all sororities take part and it's about a week of structured and organized events. You'll be assigned to a group of other PNMs and do things like house tours, see skits and learn about philanthropies. You'll start out visiting all of the sororities, then fewer and fewer until Bid Day when you find out which ONE sorority invites you to pledge.
No lie, it's tougher for juniors to get bids at any SEC school, but UTK has an upperclassman quota, which means they can take a certain number of non-freshmen without it hurting the number of freshmen they can give bids to. That can help, but just go in knowing that you'll probably get some cuts just because you're a junior. Definitely get the recs and be willing to give every sorority a chance, so ignore all the ranking you see on this site. Every sorority here is good. As long as you're getting invites back, stay in the game instead of dropping out of recruitment like some do when favorite sororities release them. So many times they end up regretting it. Good luck!
