chapters

by:

Hello! I am researching the chapters for next year before I go through recruitment. Can anyone tell me a few little things about some of the chapters? Like how close are their sisterhoods or who is involved in a lot of events? Thank you!!

another ploy from this site to stir up drama. ALL the houses have something to offer depending on your personality and where you'll fit in. I HATE how this site tries to get groups to say negative things about one another.

I actually am really curious because I don't live in the area and I have no other way of researching it. Thanks

Mistake to come to this site for that kind of info. You will not find out the truth...far from it. Look up their websites, Facebook pages etc. Come to Pan Preview weekend or just wait until recruitment and form your OWN opinions. This site is a waste of your time.

the best way to research UTK sororities is to go the UTK panhellenic web site. Every sorority at UT is listed and you can click on to each sororities' local web page and there it will tell you what you are looking for along with pictures. Each sorority will list their semester cost, GPA requirements, GPA standing, what campus organizations members are involved in, what philanthropic events they have participated in (currently and in the past), what honors they have received etc. Also most sororities have an open twitter you can read and a facebook you can follow. If you really want to know, thats where you will find the honest information about all of the houses on campus.

This site isn't the best place to do your research. Like Just said, there are people out here who stir up drama and bash the chapters. Some people aren't even Greek. They're haters or posers, or maybe bitter because a certain group cut them, so they just want to start trouble. I know people who have missed out on great sisterhoods because of things they've read out here.

All the UTK sororities have websites, FB pages and other social media. You can get some ideas about them from the info and photos they put up. You'll learn a lot more that way than by what you see here. Just keep an open mind when you rush. All the sororities are big with strong nationals and made up of a mix of personalities and interests. They all have philanthropies, social calenders and new houses (or will have them soon.) Good luck next fall!

the advice from above. This site is so far from reality. I am in a sorority and am also an out of state girl. Some sororities are more open to out of state girls than others. My roommate is also from out of state. We are in different houses and do a lot of stuff with each other's sisters. This site would have you believe that everybody hates everybody else...so not true. I have good friends in every house, and I can honestly say every house is great in some way. You will find a "home" away from home. I hope you love it as much as I do.

I know an out of state girl who went through UTK recruitment this fall and dropped before pref because of things she read here about the two chapters that invited her. She now knows what a huge mistake she made because she's seen that both are great sororities with great members and that she would have been happy in either place. They both made quota, are at total and probably won't be doing spring rush, so she knows she messed up. Don't trust this site and its dumb rankings for your info. Check out websites, FB etc like everyone says, but don't pre-choose favorites and get your heart set on them before you've even met them. Be open to all sororities and have a great recruitment!
