living in the house if i'm an ra

I got offered an RA job for the spring but I was going to rush. Do I have to live in the house if I'm in a sorority? Are there ones that don't require it? If I don't get the RA paycheck, I wouldn't be able to afford dues, plus I really want to do both if possible.
