I can carry on a conversation with anybody. Unfortunately,there were several houses during rush who struggled to talk to anybody they didn't already know...pitiful really. They were only interested in carrying on conversations with "hometown" girls. The worst about that were Tri Delt, ADPI, and KD.

I don't think so. there are hundreds of girls in all the houses and you can only talk to a few without finding fault? looks like the unfortunate, pitiful one is you. you are just a mean girl basher.

agree. I am an out of state girl, and I did pledge a what many consider a "top" house. But, there were a few houses who treated out of state girls poorly and really did not try to get to know them. There were several girls who said the same thing. I was completely ignored at one house. Needless to say, I dropped them first round.

you are in college now. being judgmental and gossipy about houses that are known to be popular shows how insecure and high school you are. everyone but you knows that rush is not real--and guess what, it's over. in real life situations you branch out and get to know other people.

bad :(. I am an out of stater too, and honestly, many out of state girls were overlooked and not because they were awkward, had low grades, and were unattractive. I was lucky to get a bid to a great house, but many of my friends were disappointed.

it sounds like you and your oos friends only wanted certain houses and still hold it against those houses for not bidding ya'll. so much so that you keep getting on this site just to bash them. well houses cant take everyone so show some class and move on.

I am not holding it against anyone, just stating a fact. I rushed a "top" tier house but being a legacy helped me. Nobody bashed anyone either. You, my friend, are the one who needs to show some class. True, houses can't take everyone, but you should show common courtesy to all girls who walk through your door. Some houses fell short on courtesy. They were rude...just like your comment.

Sorry to disappoint you, but I am in what is considered a "top" tier house. I sure hope you aren't in ANY house because you do not exemplify what Pan is all about. You are the rude one calling people names and really have no class at all. I was never bashing anyone. I just stated that many oos girls were overlooked and some houses were rude. That is the truth...bottom line. I know there are amazing girls in every house at UT. Some girls just need to make more of an effort to be more courteous during rush.

you are NOT in a top house and sulking about your unsuccessful recruitment months after its over shows how unhappy you are with yourself and your house. In fact if you were in a top house you would know all the top houses have plenty of oos girls in them. just because your friends(you) didn't get the houses they wanted does not mean they weren't looked at, because they were. maturity means liking where you are and not hating where you aren't

Sorry ignoramous...I am in a top house and my top choice, so no sulking here...haha. I know for a fact that a lot of top houses have oos girls, but be realistic, not that many. I also know for a fact that many houses already recruit heavily from target areas. You denying that makes you look stupid.

Sorority has partiers. Kappa has a few girls that are probably wilder than most, but as a whole they aren't wilder than any other sorority. They just have had that reputation for so long that it's hard for them to get past it. Every sorority has their reputation that they have always had, but you can't really stereotype a sorority negatively as a whole. Every sorority has great girls in them, and every sorority has crazy partiers. It makes for a good mix.

the Kappas like to have their fun. Nothing wrong or exceptional about that. They also have their share of studious, more reserved girls. What they should be known for is their truly close sisterhood. All houses claim to have it, but Kappa really does. They are also liked for being laid back and drama-free.

are sweethearts with a lot of party girls, well more than most. There's really nothing wrong with that. It's just a fact. They do have a close sisterhood, but so do many other houses. Kappas are known as the partiers because they don't hide it like many other houses. I love the Kappas I know!

Hi! I really want to rush in the fall of 2014. I will be a junior and new student at UTK, I will be transferring from Santa Barbara city college in California and have a 3.3 gpa. I really want to see what my chances are of getting into a sorority if any one can help me out! (: thanks!
