junior rushing?

by: Question

I randomly stumbled across this site when searching to find out about Greek life at UT and thought I'd ask about an upperclassman rushing. I currently go to a community college and plan on transferring to UT next fall as a junior. However someone has told me it wouldn't be a good idea to rush, since upperclassmen apparently have a low chance of getting a bid over a freshman, because they're older. I was wondering would it be a waste of time? Thoughts?

Heard it's not age they go by as much as grade. They would like someone who would be in the sisterhood for as long as possible.

UT sororities have an upperclassman quota which enables them to bid upperclassmen without it being part of the Freshman class. But, sororities do not have to use upperclassman quota and if they do us it, the number of PNM's they bid is very small. Hope this helps.

Will most likely get a bid somewhere, it just might not be your top choice!

If you rush, realize that you will need to keep an open mind to EVERY house.

And all the sororities are good and have a lot to offer!
