bid
by: just wonderingWhat is snap bidding and have any gone out yet

Snap bids, by definition, must go out after the bid list is given to the chapters on the morning of Bid Day, but before bids are distributed to the girls. (So chapters only have a matter of hours to come up with girls to give snap bids to, and this way they may make "quota" by snapping the number of spaces they fall short.) 24 hours after bids are distributed to girls on Bid Day chapters who are under total may start "COB" or "Continuous Open Bidding" until they meet total. At UT this number is 164 girls per chapter. Not sure what chapters may be under total on campus- not all will be, and many are not right after formal recruitment when they have just received a large group of girls.

If you went through Recruitment and dropped or didn't get a bid but are still interested in joining a sorority, many can still issue bids, so if there are some that you are particularly interested in, you can contact their chapter president or you could contact Panhellenic and let them know you're interested!
