anyone involved in utk greeklife knows that DZ was a bottom middle chapter but they have gotten better, I wouldnt call them a "top" chapter but they arent as bad as they used to be. They put on a good rush but like the commenters before me have said, you have to be on the other side to know who got the best girls. The girls of these sororities have been working for weeks before recruitment picking the girls they wanted, and yes every top chapter does this. Being in a "top" chapter and having friends in a "top" chapter we were all after the same girls, and the girls seemed to all go either Phi Mu, KD, ADPi, Tri Delt, AOPi, and some Chi O. We didnt loose any of the girls we wanted to DZ. Just because they put on a good rush, doesnt mean they got the most sought after girls by the top chapters. And really, it doesnt matter because there are different chapters for a reason. and its to find where you fit in. Phi Mu and KD may have been really sought after during rush but AOPi and Tri Delt are still top tier like them which none of that matters anyway, but it must to the person who started this since they are asking who the best pc is.

plenty of "top" girls went DZ and other houses for that matter over AOPI, ADPI, CHIO, and TriDelt. I know girls who went KD and DZ who dropped ADPI, AOPI, CHIO and TriDelt. Don't kid yourself... ADPI and and TriDelt lost PLENTY of girls due to their actions during recruitment...that, is the truth. No house puts on a good rush and gets a lousy pledge class...bottom line.

If what you said is true, then the so called "top" tiers chose their pledges before rush began. What a pity...you missed the opportunity on some AMAZING out of state girls that no one in your chapters knew. Try to be more diverse, and your house will be SOOOO much better for it. No wonder many of you are slipping!!! Tennessee prides itself on diversity, yet you take no one outside of your "circle" making for a very cookie cutter sorority. Don't say you got the TOP pledge class when you know NOTHING about the out of state girls nor did you try to get to know many of them.

and ADPI are just afraid to say they screwed up with their "preselections." If you notice the theme..."AOPI, ADPI, and TriDelt are still top tier." How do you know when you only took somebody who knew somebody...sounds like high school to me. At least AOPI wasn't rude!!!

poster #32 actually admitted they picked who they wanted before rush even started?!?! That is PATHETIC! Why don't you just put a sign on your door..."Out of state girls need not enter," because, be realistic, girls from outside of Tennessee do not know many sorority girls at UT. So basically the poster admitted they are uninterested in getting to know outsiders. Now, that's a high school mentality right there.

When the poster said they picked girls before rush they did not mean they picked a solid pledge class but they had there eyes on girls they wanted. Out of state girls were included in this, and if they met an amazing girl during rush then they added her to the girls they wanted. Every chapter I know of at UT does this at their "retreat" or whatever they call it in their chapter.

Here is how it goes.... All sororities have legacies and friends of current actives that are going through rush, so they will get an easier ride. The sororities that the do not have a bunch of girls from then same area or high schools tend to be more diverse and open to girls outside of that group. If an out of state girl has an awesome résumé and a recommendation, they will be in the pool of prospects outside of those that have an inside track. Trust me... These are the girls every sorority wants!
There is also that extremely personable PNM that no one knew before rush that just stands out because of her personality and attitude toward the process. This is where fit comes in. I swear it is the shallowest process in the world to a certain extent but it really all does work out in the end. It is also a great practice for work force interviews and how shallow the process can be. It's college, its learning, and its life. Have fun! You are a greek at The Univeristy of Tennessee. You will meet the the best friends of your life both witnhin and outsiee of your sorority. You have much fun ahead. Go VOLS!!!!
