Don't be taken in by who has the better coordinating rush outfits or decorations, because most likely only a few people had a say in those and everyone's tastes are different. Focus on the conversations you have & the way the girls make you feel each time you are there. PNMs, every house has great girls and every house has horrible humans and everyone in between, so choose a place that you want to give your time and money and heart. Notice how houses treat other girls and how the actives vibe together. Some houses could be incredible if PNMs just went where they felt comfortable and were proud to be part of a group that wants to better themselves and aren't content with being clones. Take every introduction as a chance to make a best friend, I met my little round 1 and couldn't imagine college without her. Each chapter will have a type, and that's just what happens when like people recruit like people. Even so, there are 100+ girls you didn't meet so keep that in mind when you are heartbroken you got dropped by THE house. You are wanted somewhere and you just have to be humble and open-minded enough to realize your experience is unique and it doesn't matter how you get to a house, just that you do. Give it some time and feel it out. On that note, dress cute and do your hair & makeup. It's an interview so just be your best self. If your grades aren't great, consider postponing until spring or sophomore year so that this doesn't limit your options, because there are strict cut offs regardless of how awesome you are. If you love a house or a girl, TELL HER. We remember and make notes. If you are torn towards the end, ask your gamma chi or even an active on pref if they struggled or were dropped etc. They can help you see things differently and feel more confident in your choice and its not going to offend them.
