will recs make or break you?
by: ConcernedNone of my family members are/were in sororities. I’ve tried to get recs but I’m having a really hard time getting them because I don’t know anyone. If I don’t have recs will that affect me?

in many cases. There are so many girls going through recruitment, and the easiest cuts to make are for poor grades and no recs. Some chapters cannot pledge you without a rec, per national policy. A few may not care. Reach out to every adult woman you know- former teachers, at your church, your mom's friends, your friends mothers, etc. Greek women are used to writing recs this time of year and are glad to do so. Do not hesitate to ask.

Men know Greek women too! Your male relatives, teachers, coaches, neighbors, co-workers etc. know Greek women, or know men with Greek wives and girlfriends. Also many sororities accept recs from actives in other chapters than the one where you are rushing. Use Facebook and all other social media you have available.
