time commitment

by:

I’m going through recruitment soon and I’m super nervous about the time commitment of being in a sorority. I have a job working weekdays 2-6 and a long term boyfriend and I don’t want to give up my personal life for Greek life :/ help!

I definitely wouldn’t waste my time going through recruitment....you’ll have a lot to juggle at school, period. So if you prioritize work and bf, don’t take the spot of someone who’s willing to put in the extra effort. Hundreds of girls make it work with more than that on their plate. Your work ethic will come out in recruitment anyways, they can sniff that out like dogs

Lots of girls work part time and manage sorority membership. You have to have great time management. Doing things with your sisters on a regular basis is how you bond with them, which is the whole point of membership. and participation from all members is what makes sororities work. You can't let everybody else do all the work. There are requirements like weekly meetings and mandatory events throughout the year, especially before and during recruitment. What is it that you are wanting to get out of sorority membership? If you only want to show up if you're not otherwise busy or just go to parties then it's not for you. You will get out of it what you put into it.
