Hi I'm a junior from Ohio and I'm very interested in UTK. I have a 4.0 average GPA and a 31 on my ACT so I am not necessarily worried about getting in from a grades perspective however, i am worried that coming from a northern state will hinder my ability to be accepted during rush. Does this happen or am i just irrationally worried? Thank you!

I’m assuming you’re talking about sorority rush. For sorority recruitment, being out of state has little to no effect on what house you end up in. It’s more of concern for fraternity rush because there are definitely some fraternities that target in state guys first.

Hey this is totally not a problem! Lots of people from different areas get bids and that’s totally normal. Your strong GPA and ACT will help a lot during rush
