greek life/acceptance at utk
by: Joan18Hello, I am a senior and I am only interested in The University of Tennessee in Knoxville. I have a 3.25 GPA and an ACT of 25 composites. However, my math section of the ACT is a 17 and apparently, that is the reason I was deferred. I am taking the ACT in February not only for acceptance but also for rush. What are my chances of acceptance at utk? What are my chances for a good rush experience with my grades and test scores? PS: Both my parents graduated from UTK and It has been my dream to go there since I was little/ I am really upset about my difference and could use some realistic advice.

You should end up getting accepted by UT even if you have low scores because all UT cares about is getting their money. You didn’t specify sorority or fraternity rush so I’ll just go over both. Sororities are going to be more picky because they maintain high average GPAs. Typically, their average is between 3.2-3.4 so you will definitely need to make some adjustments for college and some sororities might cut you quickly if you have a low GPA. For fraternity rush, it doesn’t really matter at all for most fraternities.
